Hello Parents and Students,
I am so excited for the next two weeks…we get to explore ROCKS!!! We are going to have so much fun, you will never look at rocks the same! 🙂
Objective: 6.10 B
We will classify igneous, sedimentary, and metamorphic rocks based on the processes of their formation. They will develop an understanding of the multiple pathways of the rock cycle.
Monday- (white)
-LAB
Weathering
Tuesday/Wednesday
Sedimentary, Igneous, Metamorphic Rocks
Thursday/Friday
Rock Cycle
COMING UP NEXT WEEK:
Plate Tectonics 🙂

Hello Parents and Students,
5 more weeks, I can’t believe it!
Projects are due next week! May 4th and 5th!
This week we are moving on to learn about Earth’s Structure. We will talk about the different layers and their physical properties. Anything that we do not get finished in class will be homework!
Objective: 6.10 A
Students will build model of the structural layers of the Earth including, inner core, outer core, lithosphere, asthenosphere, mantle, crust. They will also study some of the characteristics of each layer. This will build a good foundation for plate tectonics in the next unit.
Monday
Solar System Test
Projects
Tuesday/Wednesday
Apple Earth- Layers demonstration
Create Model of Layers- Homework if not completed in class
Thursday/Friday
Notes on the Layers
1 More Model

Hello Parents and Students,
I hope you all a good weekend, we have a ton to get done this week.
I will be out Monday and Tuesday, so the students will get the day to work on their projects. I told them to come prepared bringing whatever they needed to be productive.
Objective: 6.11 A,B
students will research the physical properties, locations, and movements of the Sun, planets, Galilean moons, meteors, asteroids, and comets. We will construct a scale model and display the researched characteristics.
Students will discern how gravity governs the motion of our solar system.
Monday/Tuesday
PROJECT DAY- Bring what you need to work on
White day- Scale model due
Maroon- Jump lab due
Wednesday
Which One? – How high can you jump Lab
Thursday/Friday

Hello Parents and Students,
Hope you all had a good Easter Holiday! We will continue our unit over the solar system this week. We got a little behind last week, so we will need to move quickly this week!
Our quiz will be Wednesday and Thursday
Objective: 6.11
students will research the physical properties, locations, and movements of the Sun, planets, Galilean moons, meteors, asteroids, and comets. We will construct a scale model and display the researched characteristics.

Welcome Back!!
I Hope you all had a wonderful Spring break! We are getting closer and closer to the end of the school year, CRAZY!! This is the last week of the 9 weeks!
This week we are finishing up force and motion, then we will quickly cover simple machines!
Objective:
Students will complete motion notes and review for upcoming quiz.
Through investigation, this lesson allows students to develop a fundamental understanding that inclined planes and pulleys affect the force needed to move an object.
Monday/Tuesday
Finsih Motion Notes
Review
Wednesday/Thursday
Quiz (distance, direction, displacement, average speed, force, velocity, acceleration)
Friday/Monday
Pulleys and inclined planes

Hello,
Since last week was a little crazy, we will have to catch up this week. You students most likely has homework due next week. Maroon day classes have part 1 and 2 of walking lab and White day classes have part 1 and 2 of walking lab and Speed, velocity, and acceleration page.
Objective:
Students will investigate motion through a variety of activities in order to identify changes in position and direction and the speed of an object. Students will also graph changes in motion.
Monday:
Speed, Velocity, Acceleration (possible homework)
Motion Notes
Tuesday/Wednesday
Math/reading Benchmark
Thursday/Friday
Stomp Rockets (Hopefully)

Hello Parents and Students,
We will be continuing out study over force and motion this week, this unit will take us all the way to end of the 9 weeks. This 9 weeks ends that Friday we get back from Spring Break!
Objective: 6.8 A, B, C, D
Students will investigate motion through a variety of activities in order to identify changes in position and direction and the speed of an object. Students will also graph changes in motion.
