6th Grade Science

Week 21

January31

Hello Parents and students!

This semester seems to be going by faster than the last, I didn’t think that would be possible! I hope the kids are enjoying our energy unit, this week will be a fun one!

Objective:
This lesson focuses on the movement of thermal energy through processes such as conduction, convection, and radiation. Students will conduct several investigations in order to gain an understanding that thermal energy moves in a predictable pattern from warmer to cooler until the substances attain the same temperature.

Monday/Tuesday:
QUIZ- Potential and kinetic, energy transformations, energy types and forms.

Hot or Cold ?
Radiation Lab

Wednesday/Thursday

Convection Box Demo
Convection

Friday/Monday
Conduction Lab

**If students have any missing work they are not allowed to do labs until work in completed!
